When I first started editing landscapes, the only brush I ever used was the Soft Round Brush - mainly for masking or painting colour into certain areas.
As I began to explore composite imagery, I discovered the wider world of Photoshop brushes, and suddenly another creative tool opened up.
In the early days, I used brushes primarily to help blend elements into a scene - grasses and foliage brushes were invaluable for making the “fake” look more believable.
