Have you ever looked at a composite image and wondered how it was created?
In this live session, I’ll show you the foundations of building composite imagery in Photoshop step-by-step.
Composite imagery is the process of combining different images to create a single scene. In this workshop I’ll show you the foundations of how a composite image comes together in Photoshop.
We’ll look at how to choose a suitable background, place elements into a scene, use selection techniques, and apply light, colour and blending adjustments so everything sits naturally in the final image.
While I often use AI-generated imagery in my own work, the techniques demonstrated apply equally to photography, stock images or AI elements. The focus of this session is on the Photoshop techniques and visual thinking that help bring a composite image to life.
The session includes a live demonstration showing how a composite image can be built in Photoshop step by step.
You’ll learn:
What composite imagery is and how images are constructed
Choosing a background that supports the scene
Selection techniques to cut out elements
Placing and scaling elements in Photoshop
Basic blending techniques to help elements sit naturally
How light and colour help unify a composite image
